BEAR VALLEY CAMPOUT
SEPTEMBER 12 -14TH, 2008

What a wonderful weekend this turned out to be. A new location to camp that was one of the nicest spots we have found yet. Water spigots nearby, restaurants and shopping within a short drive. We utilized all of the aminities. Come to find out, that area is going to be an official equestrian camp for the Mokelumne Coast to Crest trail.

We had a good turnout and saw some faces we had not seen in a while.

We rode a couple of awesome trails over the weekend. Fridays ride took us up to the top of the world via an old and sometimes very steep, jeep trail. The 360 degree views were spectacular. The Mokelumne Wilderness to the north, Mt. Reba and Salt Springs reservoir to the west, Spicers reservoir and Lake Alpine to the south. After we enjoyed that scenery we descended down to a nice lunch spot overlooking Lake Alpine.

Saturdays ride was a loop around Lake Alpine. Beautifully maintained trails with some beautiful views of the lake. Lunch was on the south shore of Lake Alpine.

The weather was awesome the entire weekend. Sunny, warm days, cool nights. Our meals were most awesome as usual.

For those who missed this weekend, you missed a good one.
