We grazed at the kiln. There were lots of good tie-up trees and shade and/or sun to sit around. The trail boss donated a feed bucket from Country Feed-n-More and used very green, Irish grass to cushion a bottle of Irish cream. We raffled this at lunch time. I found the cutest cowgirl there to help me draw the winner. Thank you Morgan! Morgan drew # 4 which belonged to Kathy Huebert. Congratulations Kathy! We lunched for just less than an hour and then started back to the staging area. There is a considerable draw to come up so horses did it at many different paces. So we were spread out on the trip back. Folks stayed and visited while the horses napped and the afternoon was gorgeous.
I want to thank everyone that attended the ride. It was a perfect turnout. I especially want to thank all the folks that assisted me so this ride happened without a hitch. No crashes, no injuries, although John may be a bit sore! Members helped with the morning sign-ups, directing rigs to open parking areas, gate masters and drag riders. It was a good group and I truly appreciate the group effort to help me. I won’t name names, because I will feel horrible if I forget one. But you all know who you are – THANK YOU. A special mention to Sharon Ingham for the chocolate cupcakes with green sprinkles – boy were they a hit!
